天美传媒 Celebrates 2nd Culture Week: Theme: Our Culture, Our Heritage, Our Wealth

天美传媒 officially launched its听 2nd Culture Week on March 25, 2025, under the theme 鈥淥ur Culture, Our Heritage, Our Wealth.鈥 The event, running until March 28, was introduced by Prof. Rose Ongati, Director of Linkages, Outreach & Consultancies, who highlighted its significance in celebrating cultural diversity. 听

Event Highlights
The week-long festival features: 听
- Cultural performances (songs, dances, theater) 听
- Sports activities 听
- Exhibition of cultural artifacts 听
- Traditional cuisine tasting 听
- Fashion shows and modeling 听
- Crowning of *Mr. and Miss Culture* 听

She highlighted the purpose of Culture Week, which is to enhance intercultural interaction. Participants get to know the cultures of other communities, 鈥嬧媓ow they dress, their languages, food, and their dances. This makes an immense contribution toward promoting and enhancing nationhood and national identity.
The purpose of the Culture Week is:

  • Celebrating diversity听through cultural expressions

  • Preserving heritage听via performances and exhibitions

  • Fostering unity听by bringing the university community together

  • Promoting intercultural learning鈥攗nderstanding different languages, foods, and traditions to strengthen national identity

The university thanked sponsors and partners, citing the听Obutntu Philosophy:听鈥淚 am because we are,鈥emphasizing community and shared humanity.

This year鈥檚 event builds on the success of the inaugural Culture Week, further solidifying its role in safeguarding Kenya鈥檚 rich cultural heritage.
